Snow Squall/Wind Coordination Message #1 – Tuesday 1/28/25 Snow Squall and Wind Gust Potential

Hello to all…

..Snow Squalls during and after the Morning Commute may result in slippery locations, brief period of poor visibility and a coating to 1″ of snow in areas that receive the squalls..
..The snow squalls associated with a cold front will also bring a period of strong wind gusts between 40-45 MPH with isolated wind gusts to 50 MPH. These winds may cause isolated pockets of tree/wire damage and isolated power outages with the greatest potential for strongest winds in Northern & Central Massachusetts though all areas should monitor..
..Another light snow event with the potential for another round of snow squalls could occur during the day Wednesday with a coordination message posted on this potential on Tuesday Evening..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the snow squall and strong wind gust potential for Tuesday and the light snow and snow squall potential for Wednesday. This will be the only coordination message on the Tuesday snow squall/wind potential unless a significant update to the situation occurs and time allows for an update. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Wind Gust Map, Area Forecast Discussion and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
