Storm Coordination Message #1 – Sunday Evening 3/16/25-Monday Morning 3/17/25 – Heavy Rain & Strong Wind Gust Potential
Hello to all…
..Soaking rainfall and some strong wind gusts likely tonight through Monday Morning across Southern New England. A widespread 1-2″ of rainfall with isolated amounts of 2″ or more particularly in Southeast New England is likely when the storm ends late Monday AM/Early PM. Wind Gusts on average are expected to be between 35-45 MPH with isolated higher wind gusts if winds are able to get to the surface efficiently in heavy rainfall or warmer temperatures are expected..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for rain gauge reports, measured wind gust reports of 40 MPH or greater and any isolated wind damage/flooding reports. This will be the only coordination message on this storm event unless a significant change to the situation occurs and time allows for an update. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Area Forecast Discussion, and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
