..Dangerous Arctic Cold air to affect the region tonight into Thursday Morning. Strong to Damaging Winds possible across portions of Southern New England late Thursday Night into Friday with a period of light snow possible during the Friday Morning Commute..
..A Wind Chill Warning is in effect through 11 AM Thursday for Franklin, Northern Worcester, Western Hampshire and Western Hampden Counties for wind chill indicies to 30 Below Zero..
..A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect through 11 AM Thursday for the rest of the NWS Taunton Coverage Area except for Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard for Wind Chill indicies to 23 Below Zero..
..A High Wind Watch is now in effect for late Thursday Night through Friday Afternoon for sustained winds 25-35 MPH with gusts to 60-65 MPH possible. These winds can cause scattered pockets of tree and wire damage and power outages. Wind Advisories may be required for other parts of Eastern New England..

A few snow squalls affected the region this Wednesday Afternoon into early evening as an Arctic Cold front completes its passage through Southern New England. This will set the stage for dangerously cold wind chills across Southern New England and extreme cold temperatures overnight and into Thursday Morning. Wind Chill Advisories and Warnings are in effect for much of the NWS Taunton coverage area away from the islands. It is also noted that Wind Chill Advisories and Warnings extend up into New Hampshire as well.
As we get into late Thursday Night through Friday Afternoon, strong to damaging winds could occur across portions of Eastern New England. A High Wind Watch is now in effect for late Thursday Night through Friday Afternoon for sustained winds 25-35 MPH with gusts to 60-65 MPH possible. These winds can cause scattered pockets of tree and wire damage and power outages. Wind Advisories may be required for other parts of Eastern New England.
With the strong to damaging wind potential, the potential exists for a period of light to possibly even moderate snow. Snow accumulations of a coating to 2 inches with isolated 3″ amounts are possible in portions of Southern New England. This will be better defined in future coordination messages.
SKYWARN Self-Activation is likely late Thursday Night through Friday Afternoon for the strong to damaging wind potential and light snowfall event. Ops at NWS Taunton are also possible.
