Wind Coordination Message #1 – Thrusday 12/3/15 Strong Wind Potential
Hello to all..
..Strong Winds possible as we get into the mid-afternoon through early evening hours across much of Southern New England. Wind Gusts of 40-50 MPH are possible. These wind gusts may cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and power outages..
..A Special Weather Statement has been issued on the wind potential. A Wind Advisory could be issued later today if confidence increases on wind gusts being greater than 45 MPH..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the strong wind potential. Ops at NWS are possible given location of resources to monitor this potential. A shortened coordination message will be issued if time allows and a wind advisory is issued and/or Ops at NWS Taunton are initiated. Below is the NWS Taunton Special Weather Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook..
