Wind Coordination Message #2 – Friday Afternoon/Evening 11/11/16 through Early Saturday Morning 11/12/16 Strong Wind Potential

Hello to all…

..A strong cold front will bring much colder air to the region later today and the weekend and will bring a period of strong winds to the region and will now be a bit stronger than previously expected and more widespread across Southern New England..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire NWS Taunton coverage area through 1 AM Saturday for sustained winds of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH and this will likely cause isolated to scattered pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor today’s strong winds. This will be the only coordination message unless another significant upgrade to the situation occurs. Below is the NWS Taunton Wind Advisory Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook..
