..Snow squalls/Convective showers and perhaps even isolated thunderstorms with strong to damaging winds and even small hail/graupel later Wednesday PM into early evening along with another period of strong to damaging wind gusts expected in Southern New England Wednesday PM into Evening..
..A Wind Advisory is now in effect through 10 PM Wednesday Evening for the entire NWS Norton Coverage Area except for Block Island RI where the advisory is in effect through 1 AM Thursday for sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH and isolated wind gusts to 60 MPH. These winds will cause isolated to scattered pockets of tree/wire damage and power outages..
..Late Tuesday Night into Wednesday Morning brought accumulating snow particularly for Northwest, North-Central and Northeast Massachusetts with a general 2-6″ of snow with the higher 5-6″ amounts in Northwest Massachusetts with areas along and south of the Mass Pike receiving a coating to 2″ of snow. ..Tuesday late Morning through early afternoon brought a pulse of strong to damaging winds that affected much of Southern New England with the highest winds in interior Western, Central and Northeast Massachusetts. ..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for snowfall reports, snow squall and reduced visibility reports, measured wind gusts 40 MPH or greater and wind damage reports. Amateur Radio Nets may be called up as needed particularly if any Snow Squall Warnings are issued. This will be the last coordination message on this event as we shift in operations mode.
