Storm Coordination Message #1 – Sunday 1/25/26-Monday 1/26/26 Major Winter Storm Summary

Hello to all…

..Many thanks to all Amateur Radio & non-Amateur Radio SKYWARN Spotters who provided snowfall reports throughout the major winter storm event that affected the region. This winter storm was not a damaging event but will be remembered for its high snowfall rates and reduced visibility in near blizzard conditions. Wind Gusts were between 30-50 MPH with isolated higher wind gusts mostly at the coast..
..Over 1200 reports were sent in during this event. This is a remarkable number. Even if the data isn’t in the snowfall map or NWS statements, data is shared by various means with emergency management, media and non-gov’t organizations (NGOs) throughout the event and is very much appreciated..
..Our team is monitoring the potential for a significant storm Sunday for portions of Southern New England but its too early to tell if it will materialize and any impacts. We will have a better idea on this potential later Thursday into Friday..
..This will likely be the only post storm coordination message that will be posted on this event. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Snowfall Map and the Amateur Radio/non-
Amateur Radio SKYWARN Spotter log of all reports received during this major winter storm..
