Storm Coordination Message #1 – Monday Evening 12/27/21-Tuesday Morning 12/28/21 Light Wintry Mix/Icing Event
Hello to all…
..Another round of light icing and wintry mix conditions for tonight through Tuesday Morning. Ice accretion should not be as significant as the Christmas storm event but a light glaze will cause slippery travel on untreated roadways..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 700 PM Monday Evening through 10 AM Tuesday Morning for Northern Connecticut, Northwest Providence County RI, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester and North-Central Middlesex Counties of Massachusetts for a light glaze of ice and up to 1″ of snowfall. The advisory is focused on the light icing/glaze conditions that could cause slippery travel..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the wintry mix light icing conditions overnight into Tuesday Morning. This will be the only coordination message as we move into operations mode. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Area Forecast Discussion, Winter Weather Advisory Statement and snow and ice maps..
