Fire Weather Coordination Message #2 – Sunday 10/27/24 Fire Weather Potential
Hello to all…
..Very dry conditions continue today but less windy than yesterday. Elevated fire weather conditions will continue through this evening but with lighter winds, conditions will be a bit better than on Saturday. A Special Weather Statement on elevated fire weather conditions has been issued for Sunday Morning through evening for all of Southern New England due to the potential for fire spread if any sort of outdoor brush fire is ignited. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has continued Southern New England in an elevated risk for fire weather for Sunday..
..There is no reporting criteria for fire weather so this message is sent out for public safety purposes, however, Amateur Radio SKYWARN Coordinators will be monitoring reports of brush fires and their spread in the region. This will be the last coordination message on fire weather potential. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Special Weather Statement on Elevated Fire Weather Conditions, Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook and SPC Day-1 Fire Weather Outlooks..
