..Very dry conditions continue today but less windy than yesterday. Elevated fire weather conditions will continue through this evening but with lighter winds, conditions will be a bit better than on Saturday. A Special Weather Statement on elevated fire weather conditions has been issued for Sunday Morning through evening for all of Southern New England due to the potential for fire spread if any sort of outdoor brush fire is ignited. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has continued Southern New England in an elevated risk for fire weather for Sunday..
..There is no reporting criteria for fire weather so this message is sent out for public safety purposes, however, Amateur Radio SKYWARN Coordinators will be monitoring reports of brush fires and their spread in the region. This will be the last coordination message on fire weather potential. ..Offshore coastal storm will bring minor coastal flooding at the time of the early Friday Afternoon high tide for East Coastal Massachusetts, Cape Cod & the Islands. Storm track is far enough offshore that there will be no other impacts to the region..
..A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 3 PM Friday for Eastern Essex, Suffolk, Eastern Norfolk, Eastern Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Counties of Massachusetts for minor coastal flooding of the most vulnerable coastal and shore road areas at the time of high tide early Friday Afternoon..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for minor coastal flooding issues for the early Friday PM high tide. Pictures/videos of any coastal flooding can be shared via the email address pics@nsradio.org or via our WX1BOX Facebook/X feeds with credit to the spotter unless otherwise indicated. This will likely be the only coordination message for this event unless a significant update occurs and time allows for an update.
