Storm Coordination Message #1 – Friday 11/6/26 Through Saturday AM 11/7/26 Heavy Rainfall/Flood Potential

Hello to all…

..After a long period of dry and beautiful Fall weather, much needed rain is coming to Southern New England but in some areas of Southeast New England, the rain may be quite heavy and coming in a relatively short period of time that could result in flooding of urban and poor drainage areas to possibly even small river and stream flooding..

..A Flood Watch is in effect from from 4 AM Friday Morning to 10 AM Saturday Morning for Rhode Island, Bristol, Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Counties of Massachusetts for 2-4″ of rain with isolated higher amounts of 5-6″ possible. This could bring urban and poor drainage flooding and possibly small river and stream flooding to this area. Areas outside of the Flood Watch could receive anywhere from 0.25″-2″ of rain from northwest to southeast across the region..

..Now is the time to clear storm drains of leaves and debris to help with runoff from heavy rainfall..

..SKYWARN Self-Activation with Amateur Radio Call-Up Nets possible if a warning is issued for rain gauge and flooding reports. Pictures and videos of flooding can be sent as a reply to this email, via our Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated. Another coordination message will be posted by 11 AM Friday Morning if time allows and operations monitoring has not started yet.
