Storm Coordination Message #2 – Strong Winds and Heavy Rainfall Potential for Tuesday Evening 11/29/16 and Heavy Rainfall Potential for Wednesday Evening 11/30/16
Hello to all..
..The Freezing Rain Advisory has expired as temperatures have warmed above freezing. This Coordination Message is an update for a Wind Advisory issued for Southern Plymouth County and Cape Cod and the Islands from 5 PM to Midnight Tuesday Evening for sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with a few wind gusts to 40-50 MPH could cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages. The stronger winds will likely accompany heavier downpours expected this evening..
..Beneficial rainfall will occur later Tuesday and again on Wednesday with the potential of rainfall amounts between 2-2.5″ across much of Southern New England with isolated higher amounts possible by Wednesday Night. If higher amounts occur in any heavier convective downpours or even thunderstorms, there could be pockets of urban and poor drainage flooding in parts of the area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the rainfall and strong winds over the region Tuesday Afternoon/Evening and to monitor for rainfall and flooding issues again Wednesday Afternoon/Evening. Below is the NWS Taunton Wind Advisory statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook..
