Severe Weather Coordination Message #1 – Friday 8/29/25 Strong Thunderstorm/Isolated Severe Thunderstorm Potential

Hello to all…

..Scattered Strong thunderstorms with an isolated severe thunderstorm or two are possible to likely during the day Friday particularly during the afternoon and evening. Strong to damaging winds, hail, frequent lighting and heavy rainfall leading to urban and poor drainage flooding are the main threats. While a strong thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the morning hours, the main threat for this activity is between 12-9 PM Friday Afternoon and Evening as a cold front sweeps through the area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation is likely with Amateur Radio Call-Up Nets possible to monitor the strong to isolated severe thunderstorm potential for Friday. This will be the only message on today’s potential unless a significant update to the situation occurs and time allows for an update. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Area Forecast Discussion and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
