Storm Coordination Message #1 – Friday Evening 12/26/25-Saturday AM 12/27/25 Accumulating Snow Event

Hello to all…

..Accumulating snow expected across portions of Southern New England Friday Evening into early Saturday Morning. Heaviest amounts over Connecticut, portions of Western Massachusetts and West-Central Rhode Island..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 7 PM Friday Evening to 10 AM Saturday Morning for Western Hampden County Massachusetts and Hartford County Connecticut for 4-6″ of snow with isolated higher amounts possible. The same advisory is in effect for Tolland, Windham Counties of Connecticut, Western Franklin, Hampshire, Eastern Hampden Counties of Massachusetts, Western Kent and Washington Counties of Rhode Island including Block Island for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts..
..A period of snowfall rates of 1-3″ per hour is possible for a couple hours in a band across the Winter Weather Advisory area and will be monitored closely..
..Areas outside of the Winter Weather Advisory area will receive a coating to 2″ of snow..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation with Amateur Radio Call-Up Nets will commence during the evening hours between 9 PM-12 AM with wrap-up nets early Saturday Morning for final snowfall totals in the Winter Weather Advisory area. If time allows, an updated coordination message will be posted with an Amateur Radio Net Schedule. Pictures/videos of the storm can be sent as a reply to this message via our WX1BOX Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated..
