Storm Coordination Message #1 – Wednesday PM 2/18/26-Thursday AM 2/19/26 Accumulating Snow Potential

Hello to all…

..Storm will bring rain at the start mixing with sleet and changing to snow over portions of the region with accumulating snow expected particularly in interior locations..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 4 AM Thursday for Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester and Northern Middlesex Counties of Massachusetts for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts of 5″ possible. Areas outside of the Winter Weather Advisory area could see a Coating to 2″ of snow with higher amounts up to 3″ closest to the current Winter Weather Advisory with a light glaze of ice possible..
..Additional winter storm activity is possible Friday into Saturday and later Sunday into Monday but details are uncertain and these potential winter storms will be covered in future coordination messages as needed..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for snowfall reports later Wednesday Afternoon through Thursday Morning. Amateur Radio Nets are possible depending on the snow band intensity and setup. Pictures/videos of the storm can be sent as a reply to this message via our WX1BOX Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated. Another coordination message will be posted by 11 AM Wednesday Morning.
