Severe Weather Coordination Message #1 – Monday June 17th Severe Weather Potential Update

Hello to all..

..SKYWARN Activation with Ops at NWS Taunton will commence at 100 PM today as the threat for isolated to Scattered Strong to Severe Thunderstorms is more likely this Monday Afternoon into early evening over portions of Southern New England particularly Southwest New Hampshire, interior Massachusetts away from the coast, North-Central Rhode Island and Northern Connecticut. Damaging Winds, large hail and urban/poor drainage flooding remain the primary threats. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is upgrading portions of the region to a Slight Risk for Severe Weather with a 40% chance of a watch being issued for portions of the region. This will be the last coordination message on this threat as we move into operations mode.
