Storm Coordination Message #1 – Sunday Evening 3/2/14-Monday 3/3/14 Winter Storm Event
Hello to all..
..Storm System for tonight and Monday will remain well south of the area and will result in minor impacts with advisory level snow for Cape Cod and the Islands and possibly other parts of South Coastal Massachusetts and South Coastal Rhode Island..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 6 PM Sunday Evening to Noon Monday for Cape Cod and the Islands for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts near the Cape Cod Canal and possibly Nantucket Island. Other parts of South Coastal Massachusetts and Rhode Island will receive 1-3″ of snow and its possible it could be slightly higher resulting in Advisories being expanded to his area..
..The rest of Southeast Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Northern Connecticut will receive a dusting-2″ of snow and areas north of this region will receive little to no snow accumulation..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor this storm tonight through Noon Monday. Another coordination message will be issued by 9 PM this evening. Below is the NWS Taunton Winter Weather Advisory, Hazardous Weather Outlook and Snowfall Map..
