Wind Coordination Message #1 – Friday Afternoon 11/11/16 through Early Saturday Morning 11/12/16

Hello to all…

..A strong cold front will bring much colder air to the region later today and the weekend and will bring a period of strong winds to the region with the strongest winds over parts of Cape Cod..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect for Cape Cod from 1 PM Friday to 1 AM Saturday for sustained winds at or above 30 MPH with gusts to 40-45 MPH and this may be sufficient for isolated tree and wire damage and isolated power outages. Across much of the rest of Southern New England wind gusts of up to 35 MPH with isolated higher wind gusts are possible..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor today’s strong winds. This will be the only coordination message unless a significant upgrade to the situation occurs. Below is the NWS Taunton Wind Advisory Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook..
