Storm Coordination Message #1 – Monday Late PM 1/29/18 Through Tuesday Morning 1/30/18 Storm Event

Hello to all…

..Coastal Low will track close enough to bring some accumulating snow to portions of Southeast New England and will need to monitor for a track closer to Southern New England..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 4 PM Monday to 10 AM Tuesday for Cape Cod and the Islands and Southern and Eastern Plymouth Counties of Massachusetts for 2-5″ of snow. Areas of Southern Bristol County Massachusetts into other parts of Southeast Massachusetts and possibly Southeast Rhode Island will likely see at least 1-3″ of snow with 1″ or less for other areas of Southern New England..
..Strong Winds possibly to Wind Advisory levels are possible on Cape Cod and the Islands as well with the possibility of minor coastal flooding during the Tuesday Morning high tide cycle on north and east facing coastal areas of East Coastal Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands..
..Track trends will bear watching as the trend has been a bit closer to the coast. If that trend continues, higher snowfall totals are possible in the advisory area and some points north and west of the current Winter Weather Advisory area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the storm system for late Monday Afternoon into Tuesday Morning. Another coordination message will be posted by 9 AM Monday Morning. Below is the NWS Taunton Winter Weather Advisory Statement, Hazardous Weather Outlook, Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook and Snowfall Maps..
