Wind Coordination Message #1 – Tuesday 2/26/19 Strong Wind Potential and Overnight 2/26-2/27/19 Bitter Wind Chills in the East Slopes of the Berkshires
Hello to all…
..Strong Winds will occur over the course of the day today but not to the strength we had around the region on Monday. These winds, however, may slow power restoration efforts for those that have lost power..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect through 5 PM Tuesday Afternoon for the entire NWS Boston/Norton Coverage area for sustained winds of 25-35 MPH with wind gusts of 40-50 MPH. This may result in a few isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages..
..A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from Midnight to 8 AM Wednesday for Franklin, Western Hampden, Western Hampshire and Northern Worcester Counties of Massachusetts for wind chill indices as low as 15 to 20 below zero..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the strong winds for today. Any wind damage photos or videos can be provided as a reply to this email, via our WX1BOX Facebook or Twitter feeds or via the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the SKYWARN Spotter or Amateur Radio Operator for the photos and/or videos. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Wind Advisory Statement, Hazardous Weather Outlook, Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook as well as the storm summary reports from yesterday via the NWS Boston/Norton Local Storm Report, Public Information Statement and WX1BOX Amateur Radio Log..
