Wind Coordination Message #1 – Monday 3/11/24 Through Tuesday AM 3/12/24 – Strong to Damaging Wind Potential

..Departing storm system will bring strong to damaging winds to all of Southern New England, strongest in Western and Central Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 AM Monday Morning through 1 AM Tuesday for all of the NWS Norton Coverage Area except for Western Franklin, Western Hampshire, and Western Hampden Counties of Massachusetts where the advisory is in effect through 8 AM Tuesday. In the advisory area, sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50-55 MPH are likely with the strongest winds in the highest elevations of Western Massachusetts. Isolated to scattered pockets of tree and wire damage with power outages is likely in the advisory area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for measured wind gusts 40 MPH or greater and wind damage reports..
