Fire Weather Coordination Message #1 – Fire Weather Potential – Weekend of 10/26/24-10/27/24
Hello to all…
..Very dry conditions coupled with sunny and windy conditions with wind gusts to 30 MPH will cause the potential for fire spread this weekend. Outdoor burning is not recommended even if in contained areas..
..A Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of Southern New England through 7 PM Saturday Evening due to the potential for fire spread if any sort of outdoor brush fire is ignited. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed Southern New England in an elevated risk for fire weather for this weekend..
..There is no reporting criteria for fire weather so this message is sent out for public safety purposes, however, Amateur Radio SKYWARN Coordinators will be monitoring reports of brush fires and their spread in the region. Another fire weather coordination message could be posted Sunday Morning for Sunday’s fire weather potential. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Red Flag Warning Statement & Graphic, Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook and SPC Day-1 & Day-2 Fire Weather Outlooks..
