Storm Coordination Message #1 – Late Sunday Night 12/29/24-Monday AM 12/30/24 – Heavy Rainfall & Strong Wind Gust Potential

Hello to all…

..A period of heavy rain/downpours region wide with some strong wind gusts in Coastal Southeast New England of around 35-40 MPH with isolated higher gusts overnight Sunday into Monday Morning for Southern New England. Rainfall totals of around 0.50-1.50″ are likely with this system..
..There will be stronger winds aloft that should likely not totally reach the surface, however, if there is strong enough convection or temperatures over achieve into the mid-60s, there would be the potential for stronger wind gusts and this will be monitored..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for rain gauge reports and any measured wind gusts 40 MPH or greater and isolated wind damage reports from this storm system. This will be the only coordination message on this system unless a significant update to the situation occurs and time allows for an update. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Area Forecast Discussion and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
