Storm Coordination Message #2 – Sunday Evening 2/2/25 through Monday AM 2/3/25 Accumulating Light Snow Potential
Hello to all…
..Another in a series of light accumulating snow events will affect the region Sunday Night to Monday Morning with most of the snow falling later Sunday Evening into early Monday Morning before daybreak..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect through 7 AM Monday Morning for Northern Connecticut, Northwest Providence, Western Keny Counties of Rhode Island, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Worcester Counties of Massachusetts for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts possible. Elsewhere across the rest of Southern New England, a general 1-3″ of snow is expected with the higher 3″ amounts across Northeast Massachusetts closest to the advisory area where isolated higher amounts above 3″ may occur. This will result in slick travel conditions overnight with a few slick spots possible on secondary roads during the Monday AM commute..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for snowfall reports from this light snow event for the region. This will be the last coordination message as we shift into operations mode.
