Wind & Snow Squall Coordination Message #1 – Tuesday 4/8/25 Snow Squall & Strong Wind Gust Potential

Hello to all…

..Snow Squalls associated with a cold front could produce a coating to 1″ of snow and briefly slippery travel for the Tuesday AM commute followed by strong to damaging wind gusts with and behind the snow squalls and cold front causing isolated pockets of wind damage late Tuesday AM to Tuesday Evening..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 11 PM Tuesday for Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Worcester, Essex, Middlesex, Suffolk and Norfolk Counties of Massachusetts for sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Areas outside of the Wind Advisory could see wind gusts 35-45 MPH. These winds will cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and power outages..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the snow squall and strong to damaging wind gust potential for Tuesday. This will be the only coordination message unless a significant change occurs and time allows for an update. Pictures and videos of the snow squalls including visibility in those squalls and wind damage can be sent as a reply to this message, via the WX1BOX Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated.
