Storm Coordination Message #1 – Thursday PM 2/20/25-Early Friday AM 2/21/25 Snow Event for Cape & Isles – Post Storm Pics/Vides from 2/15/25-2/18/25 Storm
Hello to all…
..Ocean storm will provide a “glancing blow” of snow to Cape Cod and the Islands and possibly other parts of Southeast Coastal New England Thursday PM into early Friday AM. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 AM Thursday AM to 7 AM Friday AM for Nantucket Island for 2-5″ of snow. Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard could see 1-3″ of snow with isolated higher amounts and areas of Southeast Coastal New England like the Plymouth area to New Bedford and Fall River could see a Coating to 2″ of snow..
..The storm track will determine whether the above forecast and snow accumulations hold. If the track is a little closer to the coast, these amounts could increase. If the track is a little more offshore, the snow forecast will decrease..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for snowfall reports particularly for Cape Cod and the Islands but also for other parts of Southeast Coastal New England. Also, from the previous storm, we are interested in any wind/ice damage photos/videos from the storm impacts from Saturday Night 2/15/25 through Tuesday 2/18/25. They can be sent as a reply to this message, via our WX1BOX Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated..
..Another coordination message on the light snow event for the Cape & Islands will be posted by 11 AM Thursday Morning. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Winter Weather Advisory Statement, Snowfall Maps, Area Forecast Discussion and Enhanced Weather Outlook..
