Storm Coordination Message #2 – Sunday Night 11/20/16 Snowfall & Sunday Night 11/20/16 into Monday Evening 11/21/16 Strong Wind Potential

Hello to all…

..Accumulating snow likely in the higher terrain of Northwest Massachusetts Sunday Night as cold air sweeps into the region with with strong winds across the NWS Taunton coverage area..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Western Franklin, Western Hampshire and Western Hampden Counties through 5 AM Sunday for 2-4″ of heavy wet snow across higher terrain locations with isolated higher amounts to 6″ possible including the Sunday Morning snowfall. If snow lingers longer or is heavy enough, higher snowfall amounts in the higher terrain could occur and amounts 4″ or more coupled with the strong winds could result in isolated to scattered pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages. Areas outside of the advisory area may see an 1″ or less of snow on grassy areas overnight..
..A Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire NWS Taunton Coverage area through 7 PM Monday for sustained winds of 10-20 MPH with wind gusts in the 40-50 MPH range. These winds could cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages..
