..Storm system underway causing heavy rainfall with a couple of isolated severe thunderstorms in interior Southern New England Tuesday Afternoon and Evening. The system is slow moving with the heaviest rainfall expected Wednesday though showers and thunderstorms could linger to Thursday and possibly even to Friday. Cannot rule out an isolated strong to possibly severe thunderstorm in Southern New England depending on storm track..
..A Flood Watch is in effect through Wednesday Evening for Northern Connecticut, Providence County Rhode Island, Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Worcester Counties of Massachusetts for excessive heavy rainfall causing potentially significant flash flooding of urban and poor drainage flooding and potentially some small river and stream flooding. Total rainfall of 2-4″ with isolated higher amounts to 6″ are likely. Areas outside of the Flood Watch area could see 1-2″ of rain with isolated higher amounts..
