…Major Winter Storm/Blizzard impacted the region Thursday 1/4/18 with one of the more significant coastal flood events in recent memory in East Coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the Islands, significant snowfall away from Cape Cod and the Islands with whiteout and near blizzard conditions and pockets of tree and power line damage from damaging wind gusts and wet snow on trees and power lines…
…Pictures from the Major Winter Storm Blizzard of Damage, Coastal Flooding etc. are still being accepted. In particular, coastal flood pictures and videos would be very helpful as the assessment continues on the impacts of the coastal flooding. All photos and videos can be sent as a reply to this email, via the WX1BOX Facebook/Twitter feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the SKYWARN Spotter or Amateur Radio Operators for the pictures and videos unless otherwise noted..
..It remains bitterly cold post storm and that will continue for much of the weekend until a moderating trend follows during the week. Also wind gusts through Saturday into early Sunday will be at or just below Wind Advisory thresholds. The Outer Cape may also receive 1-2″ of ocean effect snow Saturday Night into Sunday Morning. Information on Wind Chill Warning/Advisories for much of the NWS Taunton coverage area are listed below along with the Hazardous Weather Outlook and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
