Storm Coordination Message #1 – Monday 1/15/18 – Localized Snowfall Event for Parts of Eastern Massachusetts
Hello to all…
..A small storm system combined with ocean enhancement will bring advisory level snowfall to some locations of Eastern Massachusetts with a lighter snow in other parts of the area closest to the advisory area..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 AM to 10 PM for Eastern Norfolk and North-Central and East Coastal Plymouth Counties of Massachusetts for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts in any persistent snow bands. Areas near the Winter Weather Advisory up through the North Shore and into portions of Cape Cod could see a Dusting to perhaps an inch or two of snow if any snow bands persist in these areas..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for any snowfall reports in and around the advisory area. Given the nature of the event, snowfall reports for this event will be important as there could be a wide variance in measurements depending on how snow bands setup and how large an area heavier snow bands cover..
..Another coordination message will be posted by 900 AM Monday Morning. Another storm system will affect the region late Tuesday Night into Wednesday with another plowable snowfall. Details will be posted in a future coordination message either Monday Night or Tuesday.
