..Coastal Low will track close enough to bring some accumulating snow to portions of Southeast New England. Track confidence is a bit lower than normal for snowfall forecast this close to an event..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 10 AM Tuesday for Cape Cod and the Islands, Plymouth and Southern Bristol Counties of Massachusetts for 2-5″ of snow. Other parts of Southeast Massachusetts and into Rhode Island and East Coastal Massachusetts will likely see at least 1-3″ of snow with 1″ or less for other areas of Southern New England..
..A Wind Advisory is now in effect through 8 AM Tuesday Morning for Cape Cod and the Islands and Eastern and Southern Plymouth Counties of Massachusetts for sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. These winds could cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages..
..A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 8 AM-Noon Tuesday for East Coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod and Nantucket for minor coastal flooding of shore roads during the Tuesday Morning high tide cycle..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the storm system for late Monday Afternoon into Tuesday Morning..
The headlines above reflect the current thinking on accumulating snow, strong winds and minor coastal flooding for portions of Eastern New England. Winter Weather, Wind and Coastal Flood Advisories continue for the same areas as the last update. Models are continuing to struggle particularly with the snowfall portion of the forecast in terms of how heavy precipitation will be in Southeast New England as well as the western end of the precipitation shield and the headlines reflect the current thinking. A track of the coastal low a bit closer to the coast would mean heavier snowfall in the advisory area and a bit more westward extension to the snow shield while a track further offshore would mean lighter snowfall in the advisory area and the cutoff of the snow further to the east.
SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the storm system for late Monday Afternoon into Tuesday Morning. This will be the last coordination message on this event as we move into self-activation mode.
