Storm Coordination Message #2 – Tuesday 11/13/18 – Heavy Rainfall/Strong Wind Potential

Hello to all…

..Another coastal storm system is on track to bring another round of strong to possibly damaging winds and heavy rainfall of 1-2″ with the potential for urban and poor drainage flooding to possibly small river and stream flooding. There may also be a brief period of snow and ice at the onset in the higher elevations of northwest New England..
..A High Wind Warning is now in effect from 10 AM-2 PM for Nantucket Island for sustained winds of 25-30 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH. A High Wind Watch is now in effect from Tuesday Morning through Tuesday Afternoon for Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Other portions of Southeast Coastal New England may require wind advisories during the day Tuesday and there is the possibility of wind advisories later Tuesday into Wednesday Morning for other parts of Southern New England..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the storm system for Tuesday Morning into Tuesday Night possibly extending into Wednesday Morning..

Another coastal storm system will affect the region with heavy rainfall and strong to damaging winds. The headlines depict the latest thinking. The strong to damaging wind potential looks most likely across Cape Cod and the Islands. Some of the models are a bit further west with the storm track which may allow for stronger winds to spread a bit further inland during the day Tuesday and this will bear watching. There will also be another pulse of strong to possibly damaging winds later Tuesday Evening through Wednesday Morning over parts of Southern New England. Wind Advisories may be posted for other parts of Southern New England for later Tuesday into Wednesday Morning in addition to the first round of winds during the day Tuesday.

SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the storm system for Tuesday Morning into Tuesday Night possibly extending into Wednesday Morning. Another coordination message will be posted by 9 AM Tuesday Morning.
