We appreciate all the work done by SKYWARN Spotters and Amateur Radio Operators during a busy 2020 from a weather perspective also significantly impacted by COVID-19. The annual holiday message will be posted by Friday or this weekend pending storm developments..
..Wintry mix expected to cause hazardous travel conditions across across portions of Northern Connecticut and interior Massachusetts north and west of the Mass Pike and the I-95 corridor..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 7 PM Friday through 10 AM Saturday for Northern Connecticut, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Worcester, North-Central Middlesex and Western Essex Counties of Massachusetts for a wintry mix of up to 2″ of snow and ice accretion levels of around one-tenth inch causing hazardous travel conditions. Icing should remain below levels that could cause tree and power line damage but will be monitored..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the wintry mix conditions Friday Night into Saturday Morning. Another coordination message will be posted by 11 AM Friday Morning.
