Storm Coordination Message #1 – Late Monday Evening 2/27/23-Tuesday Evening 2/28/23 Winter Storm Event

Hello to all…

..A moderate plowable snowstorm is likely for much of Southern New England late Monday Night into Tuesday Afternoon..
..A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect from Monday Evening through Tuesday Evening for Western Franklin, Western Hampshire and Western Hampden Counties of Massachusetts for the potential of 5-8″ of snow. Areas outside of the Winter Storm Watch area have the potential to receive 3-6″ of snow except for areas of Southeast Massachusetts and coastal areas where 2-4″ are possible as snow may mix with and change to rain and precipitation across portions of Eastern Massachusetts may be lighter than areas west of this region..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation with Amateur Radio Call-Up Nets are likely for this storm and a schedule of nets will likely be posted as we get into Monday Morning. Another coordination message will be posted by 1030 PM Sunday Evening. Below is the NWS Boston/Norton Winter Storm Watch Statement with Snowfall Maps/Infographics, Area Forecast Discussion and Enhanced Hazardous Weather Outlook..
