Storm Coordination Message #3 – Late Sunday AM 1/18/26 Through Monday AM 1/19/26 Snowstorm Potential

Hello to all…

..Many thanks to all Amateur Radio and non-Amateur Radio SKYWARN Spotters who sent reports on the Saturday snowstorm which has now ended and had amounts a bit more than expected. Areas of Western Massachusetts through North-Central Massachusetts received 4-8″ of snow while areas of Northern Connecticut through parts of South-Central and interior Northeast Massachusetts received 2-5″ of snow. Any additional snowfall reports from the Saturday storm are welcome..
..Focus now shifts to the Sunday PM through Early Monday AM snowstorm which will have greater impacts in Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island in addition to parts of Central Massachusetts and much of Connecticut. Trends have been a bit further west which means higher snowfall amounts and trends will be monitored into Sunday Morning as further westward trends could result in higher snowfall amounts..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 10 AM Sunday to 4 AM Monday for all of Rhode Island, Bristol, Plymouth Counties of Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Islands for 3-6″ of snow..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 10 AM-10 PM Sunday for Northern Connecticut for 2-4″ of snow and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 AM Sunday to 4 AM Monday for Essex, Central and Southeast Middlesex, Southern Worcester and Norfolk Counties of Massachusetts for 2-4″ of snow as well..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation with Amateur Radio Nets are likely Sunday Afternoon/Evening with nets for final snowfall totals Monday Morning. An updated coordination message will be posted by 11 AM Sunday Morning. Pictures/videos of the storm can be sent as a reply to this message via our WX1BOX Facebook/X/Bluesky feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org with credit given to the spotter unless otherwise indicated.
