Storm Coordination Message #2 – Late Tuesday Night 1/29/14-Wednesday Early Afternoon 1/30/14

Hello to all..

..Offshore storm will graze Cape Cod and the Islands and South Coastal Massachusetts with accumulating snow with a sharp cutoff in snow north and west of a Boston to Providence line.
….A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 PM Tuesday Night for Nantucket Island and from 9 PM Tuesday Night on Cape Cod through 1 PM Wednesday for 2-4″ of snow with isolated higher amounts on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard and 4-6″ of snow on Nantucket. A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 9 PM Tuesday Night to 1 PM Wednesday for South Coastal Massachusetts (Southern Bristol and Southern Plymouth Counties) and Block Island Rhode Island for 2-4″ of snow. For Northeast Connecticut, Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts from Suffolk County through Norfolk and Northern Bristol and Plymouth Counties Massachusetts, 1-2″ of snow is expected with less than an inch across the rest of Eastern and South-Central Massachusetts..
..Model trends moved slightly further north with the past couple runs causing an expansion of the Winter Weather Advisory. This will continued to be monitored as the storm approaches and over future model runs..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor this storm overnight into Midday Wednesday. This will likely be the last coordination message for this storm unless a significant upgrade to the situation occurs.
