Wind Coordination Message #1 – Friday January 13th, 2012 Wind Event

Hello to all..

..Arctic cold front will bring a quick line of showers and possibly even a thunderstorm followed by arctic air and strong to damaging winds..
..A Wind Advisory is now in effect from 7 AM Friday Morning to Midnight Friday Night for the entire NWS Taunton County Warning Area for sustained winds 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Some computer models bring potentially stronger winds to the area and this will be monitored. The strongest winds will be Friday Afternoon and Evening..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will be utilized to monitor the strong to damaging winds especially in the morning through mid afternoon. SKYWARN Activation with Ops at NWS Taunton are possible during the late Friday Afternoon and Evening period. Another coordination message will be issued by 830 AM Friday Morning.
