Storm Coordination Message #3 -Sunday June 3rd, 2012 to Monday June 4th, 2012 Coastal Flood Potential

Hello to all..

..Threat for Coastal Flooding continues for the next couple of high tide cycles as a late season nor’easter takes shape tonight through Tuesday..
..A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 9 PM Tonight through 2 AM Monday Morning for East Coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod. The advisory is for minor coastal flooding at the time of high tide with the greatest risk of shore road flooding in low lying areas in the North Shore of Massachusetts with less risk southward into the Boston Area and Cape Cod..
..A Coastal Flood Watch is now in effect from Monday Evening through Tuesday Morning for East Coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod. There is a low to moderate probability for more significant coastal flooding reaching the moderate coastal flood category across the entire Coastal Flood Watch area due to stronger winds and a potentially larger storm surge..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation near the high tide cycles Sunday and Monday Evening are likely. SKYWARN Spotters and Amateur Radio Operators that can check typical coastal road areas without endangering themselves will be helpful for the watch/advsiory/warning process and for archival purposes on coastal flood events. Pictures can be sent to pics at nsradio.org and credit will be given to the spotters taking the pictures which will be distributed to emergency management and media unless otherwise indicated..
..Another coordination message will be sent out by 9 PM this evening. Below is the NWS Taunton Coastal Flood/Watch Advisory statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook as well as the NWS Taunton Local Storm Report and Public Information Statement containing spotter reports of coastal flooding and rainfall around or greater than 2″..
