Storm Coordination Message #2 – Tuesday Evening 2/24/15-Wednesday Morning 2/25/15 Light Snowfall Event

Hello to all..

..Storm Track Slightly Closer to the Coast will Result in a more widespread light to low-end moderate snowfall over portions of Eastern New England..
..A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 PM Tonight through 7 AM Wednesday for Southeast Providence, Eastern Kent, Washington and Newport Counties of Rhode Island and for Eastern Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the Islands but excluding Middlesex County Massachusetts, for 2-5″ of snow. Isolated higher amounts could occur particularly in Southeast New England if a stronger snow band sets up somewhere in this area if its not too far offshore. The snow should end near or just before the morning commute but untreated roads for the morning commute will be snow covered and you will need to leave time for clearing of walkways and vehicles prior to work where needed..
..Areas outside of the Winter Weather Advisory area will receive a dusting to 2″ of snow with the 2″ amounts closest to the advisory area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor for snowfall reports early to mid Wednesday Morning. In particular, the Cape and Islands Weather Net on the 146.955-Barnstable Repeater which meets at 6 AM will be monitored for reports along with other local area Eastern New England repeaters. This will be the last coordination message for this storm system unless a significant upgrade to the situation occurs.
