Storm Coordination Message #1 – Tuesday 11/29/16 Freezing Rain in Northwest Mass and Tuesday 11/29/16-Wednesday 11/30/16 Heavy/Beneficial Rainfall Potential

Hello to all..

..A period of freezing rain is possible over northern parts of the NWS Taunton coverage area Tuesday Morning before temperatures warm above freezing changing the precipitation to rain. A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect from 4 to 10 AM Tuesday for Franklin, Hampshire, Northern Worcester and Northern Middlesex counties for light icing amounts that could cause travel problems for the morning commute..
..Beneficial rainfall will occur later Tuesday and again on Wednesday with the potential of rainfall amounts between 2-2.5″ across much of Southern New England with isolated higher amounts possible. If higher amounts occur in any heavier convective downpours or even thunderstorms, there could be pockets of urban and poor drainage flooding in parts of the area..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the freezing rain Tuesday Morning and the rainfall over the region Tuesday Afternoon/Evening and again Wednesday Afternoon/Evening. Below is the NWS Taunton Freezing Rain Advisory statement, Hazardous Weather Outlook and Winter Weather Graphics..
