Storm Coordination Message #1 – Sunday Night-Monday Morning 3/4/18-3/5/18 Light Snow Event & Monday 3/5/18 Strong Wind Event on Cape & Islands

..Post Storm Coordination Message on the Major Coastal Storm will be posted by early Monday Morning. Any damage photos can be posted as a reply to this email, via the WX1BOX Facebook or Twitter feeds or to the email address pics@nsradio.org..
..A period of light snow will affect portions of Southern New England overnight through about 6 AM Monday and a Special Weather Statement covering the threat has been issued for a coating to 2″ of snow with isolated 3″ snow amounts.
..Minor Coastal Flooding will again occur at tonight’s high tide across East Coastal Massachusetts with a Coastal Flood Advisory is now in effect through 300 AM Sunday in East Coastal Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Nantucket.
..A period of strong winds for Cape Cod and the Islands could cause isolated pockets of tree and wire damage and isolated power outages. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 5 AM-6 PM Monday for sustained winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Areas of the coast nearest the Wind Advisory could see wind gusts to 40 MPH..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor the light snowfall and strong wind threat in the region for Monday. This will be the only coordination message on this event unless a significant upgrade to the situation occurs. Coordination messages for the mid-week coastal storm will likely start Monday Evening.
