Severe Weather Coordination Message #1 – Monday 10/15/18 Severe Weather Potential

Hello to all…

..Isolated Strong to Severe Thunderstorms are possible in Southeast New England (Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts) late Monday Afternoon into this evening as we see a brief warm up during the Monday Afternoon/early evening hours followed by a strong cold front bringing renewed fall temperatures to the region. Strong to damaging winds, heavy rain and lightning will be the main threats. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed portions of Southeast New England in a marginal risk of severe weather..
..There could also be some general strong winds ahead of and behind the cold front but these winds should fall short of wind advisory criteria at this time..
..SKYWARN Self-Activation will monitor this potential for late Monday Afternoon and Monday Night. This will be the only coordination message on this potential unless a significant upgrade to the situation occurs and time allows for an update. Below is the SPC Day-1 Convective Outlook..
